Rise min 150mm.
Rise max 220 domestic, 190 utility, 170 general.
Schools: recomended 150 rise.

Going min 220mm domestic, 250 others.
Going max 300 domestic, 400 others.
Schools: recomended 280 going.

Building regulations do stipulate that Rise x 2 + Going = 550 to 700mm.

Domestic stairs nosing should be a max of 25mm and a minimum of 16mm.

The handrail should be 900 - 1000mm above front of steps (pitch line) and extend 300mm beyond the end of stair, up and down. The pitch line should not exceed 42 degrees.

Handrails on landings can be between 900 and 1100mm. As a guide make stairs wider than 850mm.
